JOE
LAQUIDARA,
owner and chief recording engineer, opened Oak Grove Recording in 1983. He
has been in the recording business since the 1970s as a songwriter,
performer, and audio engineer. One of the most versatile producer /
engineers in the business, he is well known as a songwriter and arranger.
He earned gold and platinum records for his songwriting on Boston's Walk
On album. Though he plays bass and drums and was classically trained in piano and
organ, he is known mostly for his virtuoso guitar work and session-level
singing. (Hear him sing “More Today Than Yesterday.”) As L. A. Joe, he performs with his band (L. A. Joe). He also
contributes monthly music reviews to Soundcheck, and over the years
has written for other magazines as well.

“From the start of my recording career, I have
had the privilege of recording at some of the finest recording
studios throughout the U.S. Upon moving to Boston, I knew I could
always find another recording studio to continue with my recording
career. As a songwriter, my main concern was finding a producer with
the versatility and experience a songwriter needs . . .
